This course is suitable for those people who wish to increase their knowledge and understanding of Supply Chain Management, as well as those who wish to gain international recognition for this knowledge. Those candidates who pass the examination will receive a certificate from APICS. This is an internationally recognised qualification in Supply Chain Management that has been awarded to over 80,000 professionals in more than 30 countries worldwide.
The examination is also one of five, which if passed, lead to the awarding of the Certificate in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM). It is also a good Introduction to the Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) course content.
This course covers industry fundamentals, and provides a comprehensive overview of successful manufacturing strategies. It examines the basic concepts and language as well as the relationships between Master Planning, Inventory Management, Forecasting, Just-in-Time manufacturing, Material Requirements Planning, Capacity Management, Distribution, Production Activity Control, Total Quality Management, and Purchasing. Industry newcomers and those seeking to advance into management roles will benefit from this course.
COURSE STRUCTURE
On registration all candidates will be supplied with a Participant Guide, which provides comprehensive coverage of the 10 Sessions of study, an APICS Dictionary, BSCM Study Notes and the email address of your designated instructor. The instructor will provide on-line email support for all queries and clarifications required by the candidates.
Also included is the New CPIM Study Tools, a comprehensive, online component to the CPIM program. CPIM Study Tools is an online learning environment designed to help professionals master the core concepts in the CPIM modules. This online tool contains presentation slides and assessments to complement the CPIM Distance Learning experience.
